Hi, this is Phuong, a research student.
I had a great trip of the Ceramic Park Mino in Gifu prefecture. Ceramic Park Mino is a beautiful modern building perched high above the city in a grandly laid out park setting. It consists of two areas, the Museum of Modern Ceramic Art and Oribe Square, where the International Ceramics Festival was held.
As you enter the museum, the main gate leads to a long bridge over a deeply wooded glen and dry gulch, over the bridge is a protective curved ceiling, unique as you can imagine, and the roof has Random samples of multicolored ceramic pieces of all kinds of shapes were embedded in the ceiling cement, the effect of which is quite spectacular. Once in the main building area, we passed a series of booths displaying mostly local and mass-produced ceramic and glass items that could be purchased as souvenirs or to bring back to friends and family. The actual museum is inside and downstairs on a large partially open upper platform/roof. After going through the large entrance door, take the escalator or stairs down to the entrance to the main museum complex. The book and trinkets and pottery sample area is on the right and on the left are some areas to eat if you want to eat as part of the day’s activities.
This ceramics museum, which includes gallery spaces, a conference hall, a tea house, and a public workshop, is located in Cascade Gorge. It acts as an extension of the terrain through outdoor terraces, gazebos and glass curtain walls while protecting the surrounding vegetation. Two light boxes rising from the building hint at what’s inside. Materials such as regional stone bricks and ceramics are used throughout, while pendulum-like structures and hanging columns protect the galleries from seismic hazards and protect the museum’s contents.
In the tea rooms at the water’s edge, you may enjoy the subtle pleasures of formal Japanese tea. The larger tea room covers 12 tatami mats while the other tea room, with its space of 4 and half tatami mats, caters for more intimate gatherings. During special events, formal tea is served in both rooms.
Please go there when you have free time, this is an ideal place for those who love to study light, the combination of sun, wind and water.
